PlantResponse is the Most Innovative European Biotechnology SME in 2016. The Madrid-based biotech company was awarded first place in the agricultural/green biotech category at the 2016 EuropaBio Awards, which took place in Brussels on September 27.
PlantResponse Biotech has been named Most Innovative European Biotech SME at the EuropaBio Awards. EuropaBio is the European Association for Bioindustries, and its annual awards – now in their seventh year – help to foster innovation in the European biotechnology industry.

Tom Saylor, chairman of the EuropaBio SME Platform, said European biotech companies were “at the leading edge of innovation worldwide as represented by the winners and runners-up of this competition.” Entries in the 2016 edition came from a record-breaking 41 companies in 13 countries around Europe.

“For PlantResponse it is a real honour to win this award, and especially to be the first ever agricultural biotech to win since the awards began,” said Eduardo Quemada, CEO of PlantResponse. “It is a recognition of our first-class innovation, technology, and team, and it encourages us to keep working on the challenges we have to address and the goals we want to achieve in the years ahead.”

PlantResponse’s innovative products won top scores from the jury at the EuropaBio Awards, making it the first agricultural biotech company to receive an award.
