Ion Arocena, as the top executive at AseBio since 2016, is in charge of leading the professional team and implementing the strategy laid out by the association’s Assembly and Board of Directors. The CEO represents AseBio in various bodies and organisations, such as EuropaBio and the International Council of Biotechnology Associations (ICBA), among others.
Stuart heads up organisation of large-scale events like BIOSPAIN and the AseBio Investor Day, and manages the AseBio-ICEX Internationalisation plan for the biotechnology sector, through which we promote companies’ participation in events and missions abroad. The department coordinates collaboration agreements with foreign partners, provides guidance for members and assesses internationalisation in the sector.
Esther plans, coordinates and organises internationalisation actions: partnerings and international events, trade missions, investment forums, training sessions, etc. She takes part in organising and coordinating events in the International Area, such as BIOSPAIN, and sessions of interest to members, such as the presentation of the AseBio Report.
Tracks and justifies the processes of granting aid from public and private entities; collaborates in organizing events and conferences specific to the international department; and performs administrative activities related to the department.
Álvaro is in charge of managing the relationship with the members of the association, addressing their inquiries and requests, handling their referral to the rest of the team, and coordinating the organization's response. Additionally, he coordinates actions aimed at attracting new members, their integration into AseBio, and their retention.
Ángel Luis oversees the communication of the Association, including media relations, website content, social media, drafting corporate notes, reports and interviews, and event communication. He also manages the Communication Working Group with the goal of breaking down barriers, bringing biotechnology and innovations of the members closer to society, and making AseBio the spokesperson for biotechnology in Spain.
As head of Administration and Finance, Eva is in charge of accounts payable and receivable, supplier relations and overseeing pay-out of the ICEX and CDTI grants managed by AseBio.
Raquel coordinates AseBio's Public Affairs and Influence strategy. She directs and plans the creation of statistics and the generation of knowledge about the sector with the aim of increasing the public value of biotechnology in Spain. She coordinates the team responsible for energizing the Association's working groups, aligning the areas of work and their results with strategic objectives, and holds the technical secretary position for the Commission for Ecosystem Improvement.
Criss is responsible for managing the technical secretariat of the Sustainability Commission and the Working Groups on Agriculture, Food, and Industrial Biotechnology. She also oversees improvements in the computer systems related to AseBio's interaction with its members.
Roberto is the Health Area Manager. Additionally, he is the coordinator of the Access to Market, Drug Discovery, Personalized Medicine and Advanced Diagnostics, Antibiotic Resistance, and Advanced Therapies working groups at AseBio.
Rocío is responsible for coordinating AseBio's participation in national and European projects. Additionally, she supports the coordination and promotion of the ecosystem steering committee and its working groups (R&D funding, venture capital, talent, artificial intelligence, and new technologies).
In addition to providing support to the General Management and the work of the governing bodies of AseBio, Rils collaborates in the internal management of different areas, offering administrative support, managing schedules, and assisting in communication with partners and institutions.
