AseBio. What does your company's work bring to the table and what is its strength?

Miguel Molina. At GEA, we are one of the leading global suppliers of technology for industrial processes. With many years of experience in sectors such as biotechnology, the pharmaceutical industry, and chemicals, we have established ourselves as a key partner for companies looking to take their processes to the next level. We offer technologies ranging from fermentation and separation to drying and process control solutions, helping our clients scale projects from the laboratory to industrial production.

Today, emerging sectors like New Food — with developments such as precision fermentation and cultivated meat — are creating significant opportunities, and we bring value to these areas as well. A clear example of our commitment to innovation is the development and commissioning of Believer Meats’ largest cultivated meat plant. Furthermore, we have our Center of Excellence for New Foods, where we support our clients in optimizing and scaling biotechnological processes, helping transform innovative ideas into sustainable and efficient industrial solutions.

Our true strength lies in the combination of our extensive experience, constant innovation, the quality and reliability of our equipment, and our ability to adapt to the needs of each project. This enables us to contribute to the development of technologies that will shape the future and provide our clients with the confidence they need at every stage of their processes.

AseBio. What is AseBio for you?

Miguel Molina. For us, AseBio is a key meeting point for the biotechnology sector in Spain. It serves as a platform where companies, research centers, and professionals collaborate to drive innovation and the development of biotechnology. We believe its role is essential in showcasing the sector's advancements and fostering connections that help ideas go further.
Being part of AseBio allows us to be closer to this ecosystem and contribute our technological expertise in areas where biotechnology is making a significant impact.

AseBio. When did you first hear about AseBio?

Miguel Molina. We had been familiar with AseBio for some time, but it was during the latest edition of BIOSPAIN that we decided we needed to become part of the association. All our clients spoke highly of this event and the importance of being connected with AseBio, which motivated us to take the step and start participating actively.

AseBio. What do you expect from being part of an association like AseBio?

Miguel Molina. From AseBio, we hope to connect with other key players in the biotechnology ecosystem, exchange knowledge, and, above all, collaborate on initiatives that drive innovation in the sector. For us, being part of this association is an excellent opportunity to contribute our expertise and gain a deeper understanding of the sector's needs.

We also believe it will help us stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements, which is essential for continuing to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

AseBio. What is the biggest challenge facing the biotech sector or your company?

Miguel Molina. One of the biggest challenges in the biotech sector is scaling laboratory innovations into efficient and cost-effective industrial processes. In this regard, we assist many startups in making that leap, which requires state-of-the-art technology and a strong ability to adapt to the specific needs of each process. To support this, we offer a wide range of testing equipment and pilot plants around the world.

At GEA, we work continuously to provide solutions that facilitate this transition, helping our clients optimize their processes and ensure their innovations are viable on a large scale.
