AseBio. What does your company's work bring to the table and what is its strength?

Juan Antonio de la Cuerda. Afarvi is a company specialized in process engineering, boilermaking, assembly, maintenance and after-sales service. We are experts in the manufacture, installation and maintenance of process equipment and facilities. Fundamentally in liquid processing.

Our great strength is the ability to manage a process project in its entirety, from engineering design to start-up and validation, throughout its entire life cycle, managed and carried out entirely with our own personnel.

AseBio. What is AseBio for you?

Juan Antonio de la Cuerda. AseBio is a meeting place for companies in the bio sector, which can allow us to have greater knowledge of the biotechnology industry at the level of needs, regulations and requirements in the pharmaceutical, agri-food and industrial fields.  As well is a platform for greater visualization of our company as industrial partner, to carry out projects.

AseBio. When did you first hear about AseBio?

Juan Antonio de la Cuerda. Approximately a year ago, with the help of one of the pharma project engineering company with whom we collaborate, and in more detail at the Biospain Fair, held in Barcelona this past September.

AseBio. What do you expect from being part of an association like AseBio?

Juan Antonio de la Cuerda. On the one hand, greater knowledge of the sector and on the other hand, we will provide, to the extent possible, the technical and practical vision of that knowledge, advising how it can be translated into industrial facilities that allow well-designed processes technically and that meet the required requirements , in a 100% reliable and economical way.

AseBio. What is the biggest challenge facing the biotech sector (or your company)?

Juan Antonio de la Cuerda. The biotechnology sector is undoubtedly a catalyst for the progress of medicine, with the development of many new drugs, new food developments and agri-food needs. The challenge is that such great development potential goes hand in hand with institutions, administrations and investors, so that it is done quickly and available, as soon as possible.
