The Spanish Bioindustry Association (AseBio) and the science and technology company Merck announce the first edition of the "Advanced Therapies Startup Competition", aimed at promoting and strengthening entrepreneurship and the development and manufacture of new advanced therapies by biotech start-ups.

The prize is endowed with €30,000 in bioprocess technologies from Merck and €5,000 in products from Merck Science & Lab Solutions. In addition, the winning project will be able to enjoy a day at the Merck MLAB™Collaboration Center facilities, where they will be able to test the most advanced technologies in the field and tackle doubts and queries with the German company's technical experts. The winner will also get visibility through an article in Emerging Biotalk and dissemination on social media.

Candidates will ideally be biotech companies developing advanced therapies of biological origin, in R&D, pre-clinical or phase I or II clinical trials. All applications will also be assessed on an individual basis taking into account their particularities.

  • The deadline for applications is the 5th of October.

The 3 finalists will have a space to defend their candidacy during the advanced therapies conference to be held on 20 October at the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII), co-organised by AseBio and CIBER.
