What your responsibilities will be:

Working under the guidance and supervisión of the R&D Director and in collaboration with R&D Managers

  • Manage all bioinformatic aspects of a project.
  • Analyze data collected during research studies to draw conclusions.
  • Contribute to the analysis of research studies in collaboration with other scientists.
  • Evaluate the best way of analyzing sequencing data from Illumina and ONT: i.e. variant calling, CNV, human genomics, metagenomics, whole genome sequencing, etc.
  • Design and develop NGS analysis pipelines and workflows according to project objectives.
  • Provide support to the project manager/leader in the elaboration of research proposals.
  • Convey research findings and data analysis results to the project manager/leader and to the group leader.
  • Research and apply new programs and/or procedures as needed.
  • Comply with all company policies and SOPs as well as regulatory requirements for the programming, analysis and reporting of research projects (e.g. FDA, CE-Mark etc.)
  • The position requires strong analytical skills, in addition to creativity, independence and ability to work in a team in an industry environment.

Who you are

  • You have bachelor's Degree. 
  • You have Master/Doctoral qualifications in Bioinformatics or/and 2 years of experience working in NGS data analysis.
  • You have comprehensive knowledge of bioinformatic software packages.
  • English communication and writing skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • You have  knnowledge of bioinformatic tools for NGS data analysis (Illumina).
  • You have experience in Linux and shell language.
  • You have knowledge of scripting languages (i.e. Perl, Python, Bash, R).
  • You have knowledge of programming languages (Java and/or others).
  • You have ability to work independently and within a collaborative research team, with good written and verbal communication skills and ability to comply with tight deadlines.
  • You have experience working with metagenomics and pathogen databases.
  • You have experience in analyzing data from prospective or retrospective epidemiological studies, including database analyses.

What we offer:

  • Permanent position.
  • Fexible schedule: Monday - Thursday 8h - 9h to 17h - 18h and Friday 8h - 15h
